Lottery Registration

Girls on the Run New Hampshire engages in a lottery based online registration system to ensure a fair and equal process for all girls. Parents or guardians are able to sign their girl up online for the lottery anytime between 2/23/24-3/8/24.

To sign up for the lottery online, please have the following information available:

  • Parent/Guardian Contact Information
  • Emergency Contact Information
  • Health Information (Allergies, medications, etc.)
  • Credit/Debit Card
  • When you register your girl, you will be asked to submit a form of payment. You will only be charged for the registration if and when your girl is placed on a team. If there are more spaces available on the team than girls registered, everyone will be placed on the team and the remaining spaces will be open for first come, first serve registration on 3/8/24 at the end of the business day. **Please note: Girls from the host site or home-schooled girls from that town get first preference during the lottery period.

Girl Placement Day will take place on 3/8/24. This is when the online system will randomly select girls that signed up for a designated location.

  • If your girl is randomly selected, your credit/debit card will be charged on 3/8/24, officially registering her for her team. You will receive an email confirming that your girl has been placed on the team.
  • If your girl is not randomly selected, you will be notified via email that your girl has been placed on a waiting list and your credit/debit card will NOT be charged. Girls on the Run New Hampshire staff will contact you if a spot opens up on the waiting list.
  • Registration will reopen at 5:00 pm on 3/8/24, on a first-come, first-served basis for sites with spots still available.

On 3/24/24, registration will close at midnight for all teams. No registrations will be allowed after this time. No exceptions.

Program Policies

Gender Policy:
Girls on the Run helps girls recognize their potential and rise above gender expectations that may limit their health, confidence and joy. We respect and value the individuality and dignity of all people and welcome children who identify as girls, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming to participate in our program.

Attendance Policy:
Due to the importance of group dynamics and the experiential learning process of the Girls on the Run curricula, girls who are absent for more than four (4) practices during one season will no longer be eligible to participate in Girls on the Run. It is critically important to the efficacy of the girls’ program experience that they participate in both sessions each week.  Parents should be informed prior to registration that girls are not allowed to attend only one session a week.

Payment/Cancellation/Withdrawal Policy:
A $10 administration fee will be charged on all cancellations before the first practice, except in the cases of medical emergencies, with a doctor's note or documentation.  Girls on the Run will issue a 50% refund if a girl drops the program prior to the third practice session.  No refunds will be issued after this time. A refund must be requested by the guardian by contacting Jen Hubbell, jen.hubbell@girlsontherun.org.

My girl isn't a big runner; is this program for her? OR My girl is already a skilled runner. Is this program for her?

Yes! We are much more than a running program, and every participant can benefit from the experience of building confidence through accomplishment while participating in our rich, curriculum-based, age-appropriate, interactive lessons. Expect lots of games, talking, laughing and processing in addition to running at each practice. And know that when we say run, we mean run, walk, skip, roll or push, just as long as you are moving foward!

What does the program fee include?

Registration is $165 per girl and includes:

• 8 weeks of 90-minute sessions conducted by certified GOTR volunteer coaches
• Curriculum and lesson materials
• Official GOTR t-shirt, water bottle, and cinch sack
• 5K Registration fee
• 5K finisher's medal

We can't afford the program registration fee, but our child would love to participate. How does financial aid work?

Don't let cost stop you from participating! We are committed to making Girls on the Run accessible to all who want to participate! Thanks to generous donors and community supporters, discounted registration fees are available. The online registration form will walk you through a few questions to find the fee that is right for your family based on a sliding scale.

When does the 8-week season begin?

Practices will begin the week of April 1. The culminating event will be the 5K on Saturday, June 1. More information will be shared by the GOTR staff and by your girl's coaches once the season begins.

Do girls need to attend both days each week in order to register?

Yes! Since most of our teams fill up quickly, if your girl will be unable to attend all the sessions, please save room for a girl who can, and consider joining us in a future season when she can enjoy the entire program.

Is there a way for me to sponsor a participant for a season?

Yes! As a mission-driven 501(c)3, Girls on the Run relies on generous donors in order to provide more than $50,000 in program scholarships for families in need. Click here to sponsor a participant this season.
